Communicating with people from different religious currents, you might not have time to wonder: "Why is this different understanding of the same moment in the Scriptures?". Moment, as some say, it is extremely important for our salvation, or not at all important, as they say others. Not even the time - action, the meaning and the essence of which is quite well disclosed in the Bible. This action - baptism. Some say - "it is necessary for salvation," others - "it is not essential to salvation, but it is necessary to obey the Lord and good conscience toward God", others - "it now does not need to." So after all, it is necessary or not, and if needed, then why?
It would seem that this issue is clearly highlighted in the text of Holy Scripture, why there is so much debate on the subject, why do so many people believe quite differently on this issue? Maybe because not enough get to the heart to write? Maybe because it is not very interested in this issue, trusting preachers and pastors? Maybe because they have already established a clear view on this issue? Or maybe because confusing the people in the understanding of Scripture, Satan destroys millions around the world?
Let us turn to the text of Holy Scripture and to the Lord, to understand exactly what is contained in this action, and to see the extent of its importance to our salvation

I. Let's see what the Scripture says about baptism and how it would be possible to understand it.
In the first passage, Jesus says, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he can not enter the kingdom of God." (John 3: 5).
He cites two conditions of salvation: 1) birth from the water; 2) being born of the Spirit.
And if you are born from water, how can we be saved (to enter the kingdom)? Here, you can not argue with Jesus, it is clear that in any way.
What does it mean to be "born of water"?
Let's consider the preceding verses: "Jesus said to him: Amen, amen I say to you, unless one is born again he can not see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born? "(Jn. 3: 3,4).
Here we see that Jesus spoke about being born again, but Nicodemus understands Jesus literally, that it seems impossible - to be born again, and so he (Nicodemus) asks Jesus about this. Next (Jn. 3: 5), Jesus explains, means that the new birth, revealing its meaning even more concretely and precisely. Terms of hermeneutics and common sense tell us that the word should be interpreted literally in their literal sense, unless there is evidence to the contrary. What do you mean "born of water"? See for yourself, if taken literally, then this "water" literally "water" and "born of water" means "to be baptized."
Someone says the word "water" refers to the word of God. Well, let this argument we will consider further (p.5 observations).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Bible tells us: from birth 1) of water and 2) none of the Spirit (no one) can not enter into the kingdom of God.
Go ahead, the second passage, Jesus says, "Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; but whoever does not believe will be condemned "(Mark 16:16).
What is the condition of salvation? Who will "believe" and "baptized". Many understand this verse: But it does not say that if the "will to believe and be baptized." Yes, it is not written. You can explain it from different sides, let's try.
1. Jesus clearly said that we must do for salvation, gave explicit conditions (believeth and is baptized). If Jesus had in mind that baptism is not necessary for salvation, and only need faith, then he would not mention baptism at all. But he mentioned. If you have not already done (failed to comply with both) - you can hope to escape, but the conditions for salvation are still "believe" and "baptized".
2. It would be a bit illogical from Jesus says, "and who does not believe will not cross" as a believer is not baptized, it goes without saying. Will he be baptized, who have not believed?
3. To speak, who will "believe and be baptized", is also not logical. Who truly believed, he immediately baptized in order to be saved (both conditions of salvation, "believe" and "baptized"), and who believe and was baptized, I do not really believe or not believe in the doctrines of Jesus. Because illogical to say "do not believe and be baptized."
4. If we want to be saved, then read this verse, it is easy to understand what needs to be done for this, and Jesus did not make sense to paint, what to do, so do not be saved, and by doing so, are not saved. Jesus simply said that we must do to be saved.
You can say, "but that still does not say what will happen to those who will believe and be baptized." Yes, it not explicitly stated, but it is quite obvious. If we want to be sure of our salvation will do so, as Jesus said, but if you want to experience the Lord - "I believe that's not going to be baptized," or "believe, repent, and be baptized then" - our right. Only need to remember that we did not fulfill the two conditions set forth herein Christ as the necessary conditions for salvation
